East Anglia ONE North and East Anglia TWO offshore windfarms received Development Consent Orders on 31st March 2022. This was excellent news for both projects, however given the timing of these consents, the projects were not able to participate in the 2022 Contracts for Difference Allocation Round 4. Furthermore, although the consented area of the offshore windfarm for EA2 was as per the application, the consented area for EA1N was significantly reduced.
The outline programme set at the start of these projects is always subject to external factors and, as a responsible developer, our current focus is to ensure that all requirements in the DCO are discharged. At present, we expect onshore construction to commence in 2024/2025 and energisation to commence in 2027. Further surveys will take place throughout 2023 and we will share details as and when the information is available.
